Deborah Williams is a remarkable individual who has seamlessly transitioned from being a student to an invaluable member of the staff at Recoveries R Us over the past three years. Known for her sweetness, empathy, and unwavering loyalty, Deborah embodies the core values of the organization. With credentials including a CASAC T (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee) and CRPA (Certified Recovery Peer Advocate), she consistently goes above and beyond in her role, always extending a helping hand to students in need.
Despite officially holding the title of receptionist, Deborah wears many hats within the organization. Her multifaceted skill set allows her to contribute to various aspects of the recovery process, from administrative tasks to providing emotional support and guidance to students navigating their own journeys. Her ability to connect with others on a personal level makes her an indispensable asset to the team, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all who walk through the doors of Recoveries R Us.
Maria Lee "Mara" Morales joined Recoveries R US in August 2024 as our dedicated Executive Assistant. A graduate with a BS in Chemical Engineering, Mara has transitioned into the virtual assistant field, where she has found her true professional calling. Her strong analytical background, attention to detail, and structured thinking have made her an invaluable asset in supporting our executive leadership.
In her role, Mara manages complex scheduling, coordinates internal communications, prepares reports, organizes documentation, and ensures daily operations run efficiently behind the scenes. She plays a critical part in keeping leadership focused and aligned with organizational priorities. As the right hand to our executive team, she anticipates needs, solves problems proactively, and brings a calm, solutions-oriented approach to every task. Resilient, focused, and highly organized, Mara is poised to make a lasting impact at Recoveries R US. We’re excited to have her on the team and confident in the structure and professionalism she brings to our operations.
Ela Orpiano is the newest member of the team, joining Recoveries R US in May 2025 as the Marketing Administrative Assistant. With a background in Communications, Ela brings a wealth of experience in social media management, content writing, brand storytelling, and customer service. She is equipped with a diverse set of digital marketing skills and a keen understanding of how to build meaningful audience engagement.
As the Marketing Ambassador of the organization, Ela plays a key role in enhancing the visibility of Recoveries R US. She develops creative content, manages online platforms, coordinates promotional campaigns, and supports outreach efforts that reflect the mission and values of the organization. Her passion for storytelling and connection helps amplify the voices of the recovery community while promoting education, empowerment, and inclusion.
Nurkis, an Afro-Latina from the Bronx, New York, and a recent graduate of the CASAC training program at Recoveries R US. Since joining the team, she has quickly made a strong impression with her initiative, leadership, and dedication to student support. Her lived experience and commitment to recovery education make her a valued asset in fostering a welcoming and empowering environment for all students.
