Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT/MARS) and Recovery Services class focuses on providing knowledge and skills related to the use of medications in treating substance use disorders and supporting individuals in their recovery journey in combination with behavioral therapies,
Participants will obtain an overview of the different types of medications used in the treatment of opioid, nicotine and prescription drugs. Participants will understand the benefits of MATS and the management of Recovery.
Participants will learn about different medications used in MATS/MARS, such as methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, and their mechanisms of action in reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
Support services: exploring the importance of integrating counseling and psychosocial support services alongside medication treatment to address the holistic needs of individuals in recovery.
Assessing and determining suitability for MATS/MARS: Gaining knowledge and skills in assessing individuals' suitability for MAT,/MARS considering factors like medical history, substance use patterns, and treatment goals.
